Mary Ann (Collins) Dalton, 87, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. She was the loving wife of Robert K. Dalton, with whom she would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in September. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mary M. (Ferrick) Collins.
Mary worked as the Bookkeeper for WBRU of Brown University for 14 years until her retirement. She had been a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Apponaug since 1962 and was active in the life and activities of the parish for many years. She later became a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Parish in Warwick. In her free time, Mary served on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Warwick Public Library and as a member of the Warwick Jr. Women’s Club.
Alongside her husband Robert, she is survived by her beloved children, Lee Ann McAssey (James) of Cranston, Barry Stephen Dalton (Robin) of Garner, NC and her siblings Ellen T. Purinton of Woburn, MA and Rita P. Mason of Westfield, NY, her cherished grandchildren Ryan (Morgan), Patrick (Sarah), Jack, and Caroline, and several nieces and nephews. Mary is also predeceased by her brothers-in-law William Purinton and Theodore Mason.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral to be held on Friday, May 12, 2023 at 8:45AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Gregory the Great Parish, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Interment will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
