MetLife, Inc. has named Darla Finchum as Head of MetLife Auto & Home, the company’s U.S. property and casualty business based in Warwick.
Finchum, who has been serving in this role on an interim basis since August 2018, is responsible for driving smart growth and sound management of the company’s personal and small commercial lines as well as transforming the business to meet the needs of today’s technology-focused consumers. She reports directly to President of the U.S. Business and EMEA Michel Khalaf and join the U.S. Business Senior Leadership team.
Prior to taking on the interim leadership role, Finchum served as Chief Claims Officer for MetLife Auto & Home, where she was responsible for the claim quality, efficiency and customer experience for $2 Billion of indemnity spend annually. She joined MetLife in 2000 through the acquisition of the St. Paul Companies personal lines business and has held multiple roles of increasing seniority in the claims organization.
“Darla brings a strong dedication to the customer and a proven track record managing complex organizations to this role,” said Khalaf in a statement. He will take on the role of MetLife president and CEO on May 1.
“The team at MetLife Auto & Home is always thinking about how to deliver value for both our customers and shareholders,” said Finchum. “I am honored to lead this team and look forward to all we will accomplish in the coming years.”
Finchum has an MBA from the Keller Graduate School in Chicago and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville. She is on the Executive Board of Junior Achievement in Rhode Island and an active member of MetLife’s U.S. Business Diversity & Inclusion Task Force.
