On Aug. 8, about 20 volunteers from FM Global in Johnston showed up at the Westbay Children’s Center in Warwick to clean up the playground. The volunteers came as part of a Day of Service from FM Global, which is a supporter of the United Way. Westbay is a fund recipient of United Way. The Day of Service is part of the effort to involve employers and donors in helping out. Companies look for projects to which they can contribute. FM Global decided that the playground at Westbay’s Children’s Center needed their assistance with cleaning debris, cleaning outside windows, cutting back bushes from the fences and spreading mulch throughout the flower beds. The volunteers spent the whole day at the Children’s Center. Pictured during a break in the cleanup are David Strauss and Anthony Neri.
