Senator Michael McCaffrey, left, recently presented a $5,000 legislative grant to the Rhode Island Academic Decathlon. The funds will be used to help run the competition Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Knight Campus of CCRI. Currently 19 schools have registered to compete in the daylong competition that will decide which team represents the state in the nationals being held in Hawaii. Receiving the check is decathlon president John Howell. This will be the 31st annual decathlon.
