Donald E. Raleigh passed away April 6, 2022 at the age of 75. Born August, 1946 in Providence, RI, but lived in Warwick most of his life. He was the son of the late William Augustus Raleigh, Jr and Esther Mae (Jane) Raleigh. Brother of Richard E. Raleigh, WFD Retired (Donna). He was predeceased by brothers William Augustus Raleigh III, and Robert J. Raleigh (Barbara). He was the loving uncle to Richard E. Raleigh, Jr. (Kristen), Keith W. Raleigh (Melanie), and Vicki-Jean (Raleigh) Siravo (Mark). Also, his many great nieces and nephews will miss him greatly.
He was a 1965 graduate of Pilgrim High School, and a 1969 graduate of Rhode Island College where he earned his teaching degree in Mathematics. He spent his entire career in the Warwick Public Schools- first at Lockwood Jr. High School then at Winman Jr. High School, and then finally at Tollgate High School retiring in 2003.
He was a life-long member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Cranston serving as an Acolyte, a member of the Chorus, and most recently the Jr. Warden. The Church was his second family. He was also a member of the Pawtuxet Rangers, marching in the Gaspee and Bristol Day Parades proudly carrying the American Flag until his illness would not allow. He was a member of the East Greenwich Veterans Firemen’s Club where he spent many hours playing KENO, drinking and chatting with friends. Donald was also a proud member of the United States Army Reserve during the Vietnam Era.
A visitation will be held Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 2-5pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited to a Requiem Eucharist Monday, April 11, 2022 at 10am, in Trinity Episcopal Church, 139 Ocean Ave, Cranston. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Cemetery, Warwick. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Trinity Church Memorial Fund, 139 Ocean Ave, Cranston, RI 02905 would be greatly appreciated.
