Etta M. Tolman, 84, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Home in Bristol. She was born in Athol, MA, a daughter of the late Dexter and Georgianna (Gravel) Tolman.
Etta served her country honorably, in the Marine Corps, during the Korean War. Following her service, she was employed as a Nursing Assistant for the State of RI for many years. She was an impeccable seamstress and always up for a good game of dominoes - she enjoyed her days in the sunshine and at the ocean. Etta lived in Florida and Warwick before moving to Bristol in 2018.
She was the mother of Wayne Foster of FL, Robert Holland Jr. of Warwick, and the late Stephan Foster and the late Kelley Holland. She was the sister of Dorothy Williams of FL, Barbara Lancia of Warwick, Robert Tolman of CA, and the late Leonard Tolman, Marion Dimm, Rachel Torrisi, Joyce Nigrelli and Betty Vale Cruz. She was the grandmother of Gregory, Derek and Zachary Foster, Natasha and Taylor Holland; great-grandmother of Ethan, David, Derek, Abigail and Penelope. She was also the beloved Aunt of many.
A Memorial Service will be held at a date to be announced.
