The General Federation of Women’s Clubs – Rhode Island (GFWC RI) delivered the holiday spirit to the men and women at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol.
In the true spirit of the holidays, the GFWC RI clubs along with the Mount Carmel Church, BankNewport and friends and family of members came together to help complete a wish list provided by the RI Veterans Home that included clothing, bingo prizes, clocks, sneakers and much more. Last year GFWC RI was able to supply veterans with 21 large leaf bags full of the needed items. This year the clubs surpassed that amount and delivered 35 bags. Delivery was made on Friday, December 16th.
The General Federation of Women’s Clubs is an international women’s organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service. Collectively, they love the volunteer spirit.
GFWC RI has five clubs throughout the state – Bristol County Women’s Club, Cranston Community Women’s Club, Wampanoag Women’s Club, Warwick Women’s Club and the Women’s Club of South County.
For more information about these women’s clubs and the many charities they help throughout Rhode Island visit www.gfwcri.org or contact Janet Trombetti at 401-465-4768.
