Francis V. “Fra” Henry, age 88, of Blanchard Avenue, Warwick, passed away on September 7, 2013. He was the husband of the late Virginia L. (Cole) Henry.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Charles W. and Margaret (Ryan) Henry, he was a life-long Warwick resident. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Henry was employed at the former Narragansett Electric Co. for over 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Cataract Fire Co. # 2, an associate member of the Warwick Fraternal Order of Police, and was employed at the Warwick Firefighter’s Association. He was a parishioner and collector at St. Peter Church.
He is survived by two sons, James M. Henry of Warwick, and Michael F. Henry and his wife, Kathleen of West Warwick; and a grandson, Matthew R. Henry. He was the brother of the late Natalie Macomber, Thomas Henry, Vincent Henry, and John Henry.
His funeral will be held on Saturday, September 14, at 8 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours are on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Burial with military honors in the Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter.
