Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Warwick recently celebrated successes of their students at the Fred Astaire Dance Studios 49th Colonial Classic held at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich, Conn., Aug. 14 to 16.
The Formation Team of the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Warwick took first place with a score of 94.5 in their Formation “Skyfall.” The result is outstanding, especially since many of the team’s competitors were out on the competition dance floor for the very first time.
At the gala banquet Aug. 16, the Warwick Studio received the “New England Super School” Banner. This award was given to them out of 21 Fred Astaire Studios in New England for their participation, organization and Team Spirit during the entire event.
Fred Astaire Warwick owners, Juliet and Rogelio Garcia, were also recognized among the top male and female instructors of the event.
“It was very exciting to see how people join our dance studio as social dancers and months later they dress up in beautiful ballroom gowns and compete beautifully on the floor” said Juliet Garcia.
