Shani A. Garcia, 53, of Warwick, RI, passed peacefully on Saturday December 9th at Kent Hospital surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the beloved wife, sister, aunt, friend and caring co- worker to so many in her short-lived life. Born in Providence, Shani was a lifelong resident of Warwick. She was a graduate of Warwick Vets High School class of 1988 who loved donating her time to the food bank as well as frequently donating to many other charities and being an active parishioner of St. Rita Church in Warwick.
Shani was the wife of Anthony A. Jacques, also of Warwick, daughter to Aurelio (Joe) and Deborah A. (Gibbons) Garcia. She was the loving sister of Robert A. Garcia (Tina) and Rosalia A. Firth (John), stepmom of Michael A. Mooney (Kristen), Nánnie of grandson Mason, auntie of Rylee, Raegan and Payton. She is also survived by many other loving family members.
Shani had an infectious, positive and enjoyable personality that shined on all that she touched. In her spare time, she loved gardening and going for drives to get the most beautiful ocean views she could. She was a great influence to friends, family and co-workers, encouraging them to be good to everyone and everything, no matter what. Shani will surely be missed by many whose lives she has touched with her gracious soul and heart. May we all be so blessed as to meet such a person in life, and may she rest in peace with the angels.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 10am from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Rita Church, 722 Oakland Beach Ave., Warwick. Visiting hours, Friday from 4-8pm.
