Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down 11 cents from last week, according to AAA Southern New England.
AAA’s October 14 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.28 per gallon, down 11 cents from last week. Prices locally are 20 cents lower than a month ago. The current price is nine cents more than the national average for regular unleaded of $3.19. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was 19 cents higher at $3.47.
“Low demand combined with abundant supply has kept downward pressure on global oil prices, which is translating into lower prices for motorists at the pump,” said Lloyd P. Albert, AAA Southern New England Senior Vice President of Public and Government Affairs.
The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 38 cents, from a low of $3.12 to a high of $3.50. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area, and to make sure they and their passengers buckle up- every trip, every time.
