Barely two hours into his Eagle Scout project on Saturday morning, Christopher Goodinson was delighted to see that Post Road, Warwick Walmart Shoppers were generously supporting his call to purchase and then donate those items to veterans assisted by Operation Stand Down. A Cranston East Junior, Goodinson is a member of Troop 1 Conimicut, hosted by Woodbury Union Church. The troop has operated uninterrupted for the last 102 years according to Frank White, a troop member and a member of the Boy Scouts since 1967. Troop Master Chris Beauregard said the troop meets Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the church. He said the boys are excited about this Saturday’s Klondike dog sled race at Camp Yawgoo where ten to 15 troops will be competing. Beauregard urged those interested in learning more about the troop to contact the church. (Warwick Beacon photos)
