When the Toll Gate girls soccer team lost three of its starters in the regular season, most watching counted them out of the championship mix in Division III.
Well, Toll Gate would roll to a first-place finish and then its second title in three seasons, seeing a handful of players step in to not only replace the lost production, but to exceed it in the process.
Bob Enright admitted early in the year that the girls would have an uphill battle and that the questions would need to be answered fast.
They certainly were, and Enright’s leadership helped Toll Gate pull off one of the most unlikely state championships in the entire state in 2022.
