Harold “Harry” A. Northup, passed away at age 79 on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at home. He was the husband of Jean S. (Wrigley) Northup for 57 years. Born in East Greenwich at home he was a son of the late Albert and Jessi (Austin) Northup.
He was the loving father of Joanne C. (Northup) Wilkins and her husband Marcus. Grandfather “Pa” to Madison Jade and Jayden Maddox. Harold served in the Army and National Guard. He worked at Electric Boat, Groton, Ct for 35 years as a painter. He enjoyed quahogging for many years, traveling, going to his grandchildren’s sports games to cheer them on. He was a lifetime member of the East Greenwich Veterans Firemen’s Association and the American Legion #15 in East Greenwich. He is survived by his brother Scott A. Northup and his wife Pamela of Boonsboro, MD. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Lorraine Mills, Margaret LaCroix, and his brother, Stephen Northup. He leaves several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 11 am – 12, noon with a Funeral Service to follow at 12, noon in the Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Rd., North Kingstown. His burial will be private.
