The New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) library will host an evening with the director of the Rhode Island Department of Health, Dr. Michael Fine, as he presents “Real Healthcare Reform.” As co-author with James W. Peters of the “Nature of Health, A Study of Healthcare Services, Human Rights, Society, Technology, and Industry,” Fine will read an excerpt entitled “Demented and Contracted,” followed by a presentation as well as a question and answer period.
Fine is also the author of “The Zero Calorie Diet,” which examines the culture of excess through the lens of fasting.
This lecture will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Media Presentation Theater at the college’s East Greenwich campus located at One New England Tech Blvd. The public is invited and admission is free. For more information, contact Susan Warthman, director of the Library and Information Commons, at swarthman@neit.edu or call 739-5000.
