To the Editor,

Our health care system doesn't run on its own. It runs on the bravery and dedication of workers in every field of the health care industry: from doctors, nurses, emergency medical responders to pharmacists, manufacturers, and distributors.

I work at our family-run medical transportation company and watch every day as the COVID-19 crisis puts our profession under immense pressure. Transports are challenging, requiring swift action and incredible health and safety precautions. We've taken action to equip our teams with the tools and equipment needed to safely respond to emergencies. I've been awed by the work of our employees and partners throughout the medical field who have done the same.

Health care workers are the heroes of this pandemic, a nationwide network spanning a wide range of industries, pieced together by a commitment to improving the health of our communities. We rely on pharmaceutical distributors to secure that essential supplies we need and depend on pharmacists to dispense vital products to help keep people healthy. We are all in this together and we are grateful for all our colleagues in Rhode Island's health care system.
