James B. Butler Jr., 89 of Foster passed away peacefully on June 19, 2021, with his family by his side. He was the 30-year companion of Eleanor Fasteson who passed away on March 4, 2021. Born in Cranston he was the son of the late James and Marion (Hamill) Butler.
Jim proudly served in the United States Army in the 9th Infantry during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953 when he was wounded in action receiving the Purple Heart. He worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring on June 30, 1989, after 31 years of service.
He is survived by his children Robbin, James, Jesse, Jody, Joel, and Jamie, as well as his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Jason Butler. He was the brother of Vernice Burnett and the late Barbara Gustafson, William Butler, and John “Jack” Butler.
At Jim’s request all services will be private.
