James B. King Jr, 80, of Warwick passed away at home Sunday, June 5, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  Jim was the most beloved husband of Donna Marie (Corey) for 30 years, devoted father of James B. King, III (Tricia), Norma Fiore (Frank), Kimberly Silva (Todd), and Randy Silva (Dawn Beale); Doting Papa of Jake, Tyler, Dylan, Ethan and Eliza; Proud “Papa King” of Sawyer.  Loving brother of Irene (Jay), Herbie (Joyce), Billy (Charlene), and Patrick (Mary-Jane).  He also leaves behind countless friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Jim was predeceased by his first wife Theresa, sister Lillian, and brothers Vinny, Richie, and Tommy.  While Jim had many passions and loves in his life, family was always paramount.  He never hesitated to provide for a family member in need.  He loved working, and in his day was one of the premier car mechanics of Rhode Island.  This fueled his passion for classic cars an he loved to attend cruise nights in his latest classic with Donna by his side.  Jim loved dining out and he loved Cape Cod so a ride to the Cape for lunch was often on the agenda.  He loved the time spent with his children and looked forward to his Saturdays with Jim and his daily check of the lottery numbers with Norma.  Right up until the end, he still had his “scratchies” looking to hit the big jackpot.  But to those that knew and loved him, we would say we already hit the jackpot by having him in our lives as part of our family or friend-circle.  Jim was a proud veteran of the US Army, aptly serving in the motor pool.  The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the VA Hospital in Providence for the care and compassion they provide Jim over the past decades, most specifically the past year.  Also, a special thank you to Charlie McGarty, the best friend a guy could hope for, who made sure Jim got to all of his appointments as well as just being there for a cup of coffee.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10am in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.  Visiting hours Friday 4-7p.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care, 1085 North Main St, Providence, RI 02904.  For information and condolences, please visit: theQuinnFuneralHome.com
