On the evening of March 25, 2022, Jane Ellen (Johnston) Lawandy passed away peacefully. Jane was the loving mother of Mishreky and Isabella Lawandy; the beloved daughter of Bernard and Bernice Johnston; an adored sister of Robin Stevens, Jill Johnston, Lisa Quartino, and Heather Morgan. She was a devoted aunt and cousin; and a cherished blessing to countless other valued family and friends.
She led a life defined by caring for others, always offering help to those who needed it, and always brought the fun to every occasion.
Jane was born on May 12, 1958 in Warwick, RI and graduated from Warwick Veterans High School and later attended CCRI for Emergency Management. She settled in North Kingstown, RI where she raised her children with Nabil Lawandy.
Jane enjoyed spending time in nature; at the beach, landscaping, birdwatching, and going for walks. Throughout her life she worked as a physician’s assistant in Providence, RI, at DeLuise Bakery, and most recently as a manager at Pranzi Catering.
The light that she brought to all of those who knew her will be deeply missed, but the impact she made on them will live forever. There will be a visitation on Thursday March 31 from 4-8pm at Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick. The following day a public mass will be held at 11am at St. Kevin’s Church, 333 Sandy Ln, Warwick followed by a burial at St. Mark’s Church, Jamestown, RI. Following the burial, there will be a collation and celebration of Jane’s life at beginning at 1:45pm at the Quidnessett Country Club at 950 N Quidnessett Rd, North Kingstown, RI 02852.
