Jeanne M. (Steeves) Bishop

Jeanne M. (Steeves) Bishop, age 73, of Providence, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence. She was the wife of Frederick A. Bishop.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Howard J. and Genevieve M. (McGuire) Steeves, she lived in Warwick before moving to Providence in 2013. Mrs. Bishop was employed as an administrative assistant at the Providence Hebrew Day School for 13 years, retiring in 2017. She earlier worked in various capacities for the Providence Center, The Miriam Hospital, and the Sears & Roebuck store in Providence. She was an avid reader, and sports fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. She enjoyed the music of Barry Manilow, and the Broadway musical “Mama Mia.”

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert T. Bryce, Jr. and Michael C. Bryce, both of Providence; two daughters, Karin L. Cote of Chepachet and Kerri J. Simas of Cranston; a sister, Jane F. Amaral of Clermont, FL; nine grandchildren: Spencer, Cameron, Sydney, Kimberly, Jamie, Timothy, Sienna, Logan, and Rachel; a great-granddaughter, Scarlett; and another great-granddaughter due in July. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Gi-Gi.

Her funeral was held on Wednesday, May 19, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick.
