Joan-Sandra (Hayman) McKnight, 86, of Coventry, formerly of Warwick, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Ida B. (Goswell) Hayman. She was the loving wife of the late Peter K. McKnight.

Joan served as an educator for most of her life. She first taught in the Cranston School System and later at St. Pius V School in Providence. She was an active member of Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian, where she served as a Deacon and was a member of the Women’s Circle and Church Choir.

She is survived by her beloved children, Andrew K. McKnight (Debra) of Foster and David J. McKnight (Pamela) of Chagrin Falls, OH, her twin sister, Lois-Belle Crankshaw of Attleboro, MA, seven grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. She was the sister of the late Ruth-Gloria Dexter.

Her Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Greenwood Community Church Presbyterian, 805 Main Avenue, Warwick. Interment took place at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

Funeral Arrangements were entrusted to the Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
