John R. McCormick, age 70, formerly of Canonchet Avenue, Warwick, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022, at West Shore Health Center. He was the husband of Judith A. (O’Connor) McCormick. They were married for 48 years.
Born in Pawtucket, the son of the late George “Mickey” McCormick and Gladys (Patnaude) McCormick, he lived in Warwick since 1978. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Rhode Island College.
John was the owner of Cory Tool & Findings in Warwick, retiring in 2011. He was previously employed at the Community College of Rhode Island.
John was also a drummer and professional musician.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Shannon M. Blair and her husband Nick, of Warwick; and three grandchildren, Nolan, Dylan, and Sloan Blair. He was the brother of the late Marion McCormick.
His funeral will be held on Thursday October 13, at 9:30 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, October 12, from 4-7 p.m.
