Kent Hospital is developing a Patient and Family Advisory Council to work with hospital leadership, clinical staff, patients and/or families to help enhance the patient-hospital relationship. The council’s mission is to foster this relationship between our patients and their families with Kent Hospital and their healthcare team.
Kent is looking to recruit members who will advise on the best way to create and maintain a patient and family-centered care culture. Members will be asked to help identify opportunities for improving the patient and family experience and to advise on policies and best practices to support such a culture.
The hospital is looking to create a council of about 15 members. Members would serve two years. The service would be non-paid.
“The advisory council serves as a vehicle for patients, their families or caregivers to be involved in developing a creative and collaborative team working jointly to ensure that services, care and the overall hospital experience meet the patients needs and expectations,” said Sandra Coletta, COO, Care New England, president and CEO of Kent Hospital. “We are looking forward to engaging in an interesting and compelling dialogue that will further shape the quality of care provided here at Kent.”
Those interested in serving on the council and are a patient or former patient at Kent Hospital or know someone who is interested should contact Susan Crossley, patient feedback coordinator, at 401.737.7000 ext. 31464 or scrossley@kentri.org. Members will be expected to attend quarterly meetings and provide input on care delivery, programs and policies and generate new ideas for improving operations and facilities. Members may also be asked to serve on other hospital committees to represent the patient and family perspective.
