Jerry D. Lapierre, age 79, of Warwick, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023. He was the loving husband of Joan (Silvia) Lapierre, to whom he shared 44 years of marriage.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Josephine (D’Amore) Lapierre. A graduate of Warwick Veterans Highschool, he went on to become a proud Veteran of the United States Army, and continued a career as a Detail Officer, working for the Warwick Police Department prior to retirement. Jerry was a long-time member of the Elks Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother, Donald Lapierre and his wife Vicki; nephew, Brian Lapierre; niece, Karla Mass and her husband Corey; great-nephews, Trevor Simmons, Aidan and Chace Lapierre; and great-niece, Avery Mass.
His funeral was held Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at 10:00AM from the Thomas and Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave, Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM in St. Kevin’s Church, 333 Sandy Ln, Warwick. Vi Funeral home visitation was held on Wednesday from 4:00-6:00PM. Burial took place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to St. Kevin’s or St. Rita’ Church.
