Library presentation to spotlight condition, impacts on city trees

Posted

The Warwick Wildlife and Conservation Commission and the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management will discuss what is happening to Rhode Island trees at Warwick Public Library on Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m.

DEM Forest Health Program Coordinator Alana Russell will outline how weather—including changing weather patterns—affects trees along with Warwick Wildlife and Conservation Commissioner and DEM Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey program coordinator Cynthia Kwolek. They will cover how forest pests threaten trees and highlight how the Warwick Wildlife and Conservation Commission works to preserve the City’s natural resources while promoting development of the environment in an orderly, responsible fashion, including protecting watershed resources, preserving wildlife habitats, and promoting an ecological balance between preservation of the natural landscape and the man-made environment.

For more information, call (401) 739-5440, x9758. The Library is located at 600 Sandy Lane.

This event is free and open to all.
