Lillian H. (Brown) Nye, 98, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2022, while at the Summit Commons Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Providence. Born in East Providence, she was the daughter of the late Mable R. (Brown) York and Leroy E. Brown, Sr. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Nye, Sr.
Lillian was a member of the Pilgrim Senior Center of Warwick and a Tap Dancer with the “Happy Hoofers” of Warwick for fifteen years. She was also a Past Noble Grand Officer of the “Ruth Rebekah” Lodge #8 of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows of Rhode Island.
She is survived by her son, Thomas E. Nye, Sr. (Ret. Major Warwick Police Department) and his wife Cheryl of Warwick, her sister, Jane Cole of Woodbury, CT, twelve grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sons, Robert S. Nye, Jr. and David E. Nye, her siblings, Leroy E. Brown, Jr. and the Very Reverend Lester E. York of Maine, her granddaughter, Christie L. Hawkins and her great-grandson, Matthew Ryan Court.
Her Funeral Services will be private. Interment will take place at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
