The Pilgrim wrestling team traveled up to Lincoln on Tuesday night in a tri-meet against the host Lions and visiting South Kingstown Rebels. Lincoln would top Pilgrim 55-21 and SK would pick up the 39-27 victory.
Amari Mathews picked up an 11-2 decision win at 145 pounds for the Pats against Lincoln while Justin Murphy won via technical fall at 160 pounds. Donovan Watts went on to pin his opponent at 170 pounds, while teammate Trevor O’Connor grabbed a win at 182 pounds by fall as well.
Pilgrim’s Jacob Oliveira pinned his opponent at 113 pounds against South Kingstown while Mathews won by fall at 145. Murphy got another win at 160 pounds by fall, while Watts won by a 4-1 decision and O’Connor by fall.
