A Massachusetts man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 37 in Cranston late last week.
Ryan Barata, 19, of Somerset, Mass., lost control of his motorcycle on Route 37 west just east of Natick Avenue at approximately 9:40 p.m. on Sept. 11, according to Cranston police. He was pronounced deceased at the scene following the arrival of emergency personnel.
Based on a preliminary investigation, police said speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Barata was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Police said certified accident reconstructionists from the Cranston department are continuing to investigate the crash.
