Michael F. “Mick” McBurnie, a retired Truck Driver for the city of Providence, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024. He was 66 years of age. Mick was the beloved husband of Mary L. (Lonergan) McBurnie to whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John and Jane R. (Devoe) McBurnie.
Mick was an avid football fan and coached his sons’ Pop Warner football teams when they were younger. In his early years, Mick was a member of the Rhode Island Boys’ Choir. His love for singing endured and he enjoyed karaoke and listening to Elvis.
Mick was the devoted father to Michael F. McBurnie (wife, Margaret) and Thomas P. McBurnie (wife, Jamie) and ‘Papa’ to his two granddaughters Grace and McKenzie.
Mick’s burial will be private.
