Residents are advised that the re-opening of McDermott pool, originally anticipated for July 2, has been delayed.
The recent humidity has slowed the drying process for the new epoxy floors and additional drainage work needs to be completed.
The projected re-opening is July 12. Updates will be posted on the city’s website, www.warwickri.gov.
Improvements include the annual draining and painting of the pool itself. Upgrades include the new floor coating in the locker rooms and showers, locker repairs, installation of new shower fixtures and new tile in the showers and changing areas.
There will be no annual shutdown of the pool for maintenance in September.
