(Bland soap opera)
With a long list of famous movie stars, you would expect so much more from Garry Marshall’s bland soap opera.
Attempting to be as controversial as the PG-13 rating allows, the movie deals with interracial marriage, racism, homophobia, young girls coming of age, divorce, single parents, drinking, sex and even death. The stories are intermingled, but seldom connect and just aren’t that interesting.
Julia Roberts, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Annison, Jason Sudeikis and other familiar faces look like they have just been handed the script. The outtakes aren’t even funny.
Rated PG-13 with suggestive themes and profanity.
