On Saturday, Oct. 4 (the Feast Day of St. Francis) St. Luke’s Church will hold a musical program and blessing of animals at 10:30 a.m. at the church, 99 Peirce St., East Greenwich.
Jacqueline Devillers and fellow musicians will entertain with music that invokes animals. There will be a half hour of musical offerings from the Middle Ages to present day, in which animals (and their sounds) are heard and honored. If the weather is nice the program will be held in the garden, if not, it will be in the downstairs dining room.
There will also be a free will offering for the East Greenwich Animal Protection League’s new home.
