Obituary: Banno, George ""Steve"

George "Steve" Banno, 49, of Hendricken Court, Warwick died January 25, 2005, at home after a four year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Lori J. (Andersen) Banno.
A resident of Warwick for most of his life, he was the son of George and Helen M. (Luther) Banno of Warwick.
Mr. Banno was employed with Almacs Supermarket for 24 years, he retired as night manager in 1995. He was also employed at Homestead Bakery in East Providence for three years and Key Container in Pawtucket.
He was involved with the Warwick American Little League, serving on the Board of Directors and was the first official scorekeeper at Boyd Field. He was a football coach with the Warwick PAL and served as the vice president of the Oakland Beach School PTO.
He was the father of Sean R. Banno of Warwick and Jill M. Banno of Scituate; and the brother of Gary W. Banno, Mark A. Banno and Lynn M. Tracy, all of Warwick.
His funeral was held from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Burial was in the Elm Grove Cemetery, North Kingstown.
