Jordan Sadowski of Cranston was among the first to take up station outside the first Rhode Island Chick-fil-A yesterday at 5 a.m. in anticipation of the restaurant opening this morning. Sadowski planned to spend the night camping at the store site at 1500 Bald Hill Road so as to be among the first 100 at the grand opening. Each of them will receive a card like the one held by Chick-fil-A event planner Kerrie Carter giving them free meals for a year. Sadowski said he was introduced to Chick-fil-A as a sixth-grader in Georgia and has been “craving” for the restaurant chain to come to Rhode Island. In fact, the “First 100” is such a successful promotion that 200 people showed up at a Baltimore store opening also planned for today. Learning that there were fewer than 40 in the Warwick line, a carload of Maryland residents reportedly were on their way to Rhode Island. Sadowski said in addition to the food, which he loves, he agrees with the company’s TEAM slogan – “Together Everyone Achieves More.” (Warwick Beacon photo)
