A community open house celebration is set March 22 at 11 p.m. for the all new Comprehensive Community Action Plan Warwick Health Center at 206 Buttonwood Avenue. The building fills the spot of a strip shopping center that also included CCAP offices and is adjacent to CCAP’s Wilcox Health Center. CCAP bought the property for about $350,000, demolished the strip mall and building a two story 24,695 square foot building. Ahlborg Construction was the general contractor for the job that came in at about $3 million. When fully operational the center’s medical staff will be expanded from three to five medical providers. Joanne McGonagle, CCAP chief executive officer, said about 5,500 patients now use the facility annually which she expects will dramatically increase with the new and larger facility.
