Pauline Rose Catanese of Warwick, RI passed away at home on February 7, 2021. She was born in 1924 in Providence, RI to the late Madeline (Iovino) and Francesco Antonuccio and was the wife of the late Salvatore (Sam) Catanese for 68 years until his passing on January 24, 2017.

Pauline was a graduate of Bryant College (now known as Bryant University) where she earned a degree in Accounting. She began her career at Cherry & Webb and worked for many years there. After Cherry & Webb she continued in the Accounting field until her retirement in 1989. Pauline was an active parishioner for over 60 years at St. Timothy Church in Warwick, a member and past President of the Women’s Club, and with her late husband served as co-chairs for the Catholic Charity Fund for over two decades. She was a wonderful cook and baker and was devoted to her family. Pauline was a woman of deep faith, always had a kind word to say about everyone, and had a prayer list that was many pages long.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Maryellen Shardlow; her son, John F. Catanese and his wife Mary; a grandson, Matthew Manco, his wife Lindsay and a great grandson Charlie B. Manco. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was the sister of the late Frances Antonuccio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 13, at 10 a.m. in St. Timothy Church, 1799 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, RI, and will follow COVID 19 guidelines. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, calling hours are respectfully omitted and burial will be private at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston, RI.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Brendalee O’Hara and the staff of O’Hara Senior Care Services, Inc. for their many years of excellent and compassionate care of Pauline which allowed her to remain at home until her passing. Additionally, for the last 2 months VNA of Care New England has provided care and support and the family also thanks them.
