Phillip M. Mesolella, 73, of Curry Road, Cranston, passed away Tuesday evening, March 3, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Joyce S. (Robideau) Mesolella; they had been married for 48 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Agostino and Evelyn R. (Romano) Mesolella. He was a resident of Cranston for 48 years. Mr. Mesolella was a tool and die maker at Tercat Tool & Die Company in Providence for over 40 years before retiring in 2016.

He was a Vietnam War Army veteran, serving as a crew chief and door gunner on a C-47 Chinook Helicopter flying numerous combat missions. He received two Air Medals and a Meritorious Service Medal. He was an avid model train collector.

Besides his wife he leaves two brothers, Gerald A. Mesolella and his wife, Joan, of East Bridgewater, Mass. and Agostino “Gus” Mesolella and his wife, Maureen, of Warwick, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held Saturday, March 7 in Prata-Gollogly Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Interment with military honors was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
