DUI

Around 12:37 a.m., July 26, Warwick Police were on a DUI Enforcement Patrol when dispatch advised a black Lincoln reportedly exited the roadway after striking a stop sign and came to rest in yard at 367 Asylum Road. The suspect vehicle left the scene of the crash, but police discovered the vehicle, which had a green dealer plate, on Cooper Avenue.

Police identified the driver as Eric J. Lima, 37, of 10 Ivy St., Pawtucket. Police suspected Lima was under the influence of alcohol, so they asked him to consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He agreed.

Following the tests, Lima was arrested and charged with DUI BAC (blood alcohol content) unknown, first offense, and cited for Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test (first offense), Leaving Scene of Accident, No Insurance (first offense) and Leaving Lane of Travel.

Around 1:59 a.m., July 28, Warwick Police were on routine patrol in the area of Warwick and Church avenues when they spotted a black 2011 Honda Accord hit the curb with its front driver’s side tire, and “then abruptly re-enter the lane of travel with a sharp jerking motion,” according to the arrest report.

Police initiated a traffic stop outside 1804 Warwick Ave. Police identified the driver as Jose M. Baulogne, 34, of 350 Mason St., Woonsocket. Police noted an empty bottle of Tito’s vodka on the back seat.

“Jose stated that they had been at the Oakland Beach Seawall for several hours,” Warwick Police Officer Edmund F. Pierce III wrote in the arrest report.

Police suspected Baulogne was under the influence of alcohol, so they asked him to consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He agreed.

Following the tests, Baulogne was arrested and charged with DUI of Liquor (0.10 to 0.15 BAC, first offense) and Driving with Suspended License (fourth offense). He was also cited for Laned Roadway Violations.

Around 2:14 a.m., July 28, Warwick Police on routine patrol in the area of Kilvert Street and Jefferson Boulevard spotted a vehicle stopped in the street while the traffic light was green.

Police stopped behind the red Ford Focus and let the traffic light cycle through to red, without the vehicle moving.

The driver allegedly turned the dome light on and off, and then allegedly traveled into the intersection and made a U-turn while the light was red. Warwick Police Officer Brent W. Giles initiated a motor vehicle stop.

Police identified the driver as Francisco A. Almeida Vite, 28, of 85 Wendell Road, Apt. 1, Providence.

Almeida Vite allegedly told police he had “at least” three drinks, “possibly more” at the Sonesta Suites.

Giles noted the driver had mint gum in his mouth.

“Through my training and experience, I suspected the gum was an attempt to hide the odor of alcoholic beverage on his breath, although the odor of alcoholic beverage was still present on (his) breath,” Giles wrote in the arrest report.

Police suspected Almeida Vite was under the influence of alcohol, so they asked him to consent to a series of standardized field sobriety tests. He agreed.

Following the tests, Almeida Vite was arrested and charged with DUI of Liquor (0.10 to 0.15 BAC, first offense). He was also cited for Driving without First Obtaining a License and Obedience to Traffic Control Devices.

SHOPLIFTING

Around 12:22 a.m., Aug. 17, Warwick Police responded to the State Police Lincoln Barracks to take custody of Raymond John Zinno, 30, of 42 Shore Drive, Johnston.

Zinno had been picked up by state police on an active arrest warrant out of the Warwick Police Department for four counts of misdemeanor Shoplifting.

According to Warwick Police, Zinno was identified as a suspect wanted in a series of shoplifting incidents at Lowes Home Improvement Store, 555 Grennwich Ave.

The first incident allegedly occurred on May 17 when Zinno allegedly stole 12 copper pipes valued at $703.32. The second incident occurred on June 8, when Zinno allegedly took eight copper pipes valued at $351.06. The third incident occurred on June 25 when Zinno allegedly took three copper pipes valued at $206.73.

The combined value of the items taken during the three incidents totaled $1,261.11.

Then on June 28, Lowes at 510 Quaker Lane reported to police that the same suspect swiped 10 copper pipes valued at $529.60 from that store. The four reports were forwarded to the Warwick Detectives Division for follow-up. Zinno was allegedly linked to all four incidents and police issued arrest warrants.

DOMESTIC VANDALISM

At 10:09 p.m., Sept. 15, Cranston Police Officers arrested Giovanny Lugo, 19, of 27 Barber Ave., Warwick for Domestic Vandalism/Malicious Injury to Property and Domestic Disorderly Conduct as a result of a disturbance at 122 Wentworth Ave. Lugo was arraigned and released by a Justice of the Peace, according to Cranston Police.

WARRANT ARREST

Around 1 a.m., Sept. 15, Cranston Police Officers arrested Reinaldo Ramirez, 21, of 29 Ottawa St., West Warwick, for three bench warrants. The arrest was the result of an officer-initiated suspicious vehicle investigation at Oakland Cemetery, at 1596 Broad St. Ramirez was transported to the ACI, according to Cranston Police.

SEX OFFENDER ADDRESS CHANGE

At 2:39 p.m., Sept. 12, Cranston Police Officers arrested Joseph Roberts Jr., 46, of 30 Howard Ave., Cranston, for Sexual Offender Address Change. The arrest was the result of a pickup at West Warwick Police Department. Roberts was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and remanded to the ACI, according to Cranston Police.
