To the Editor:
Summer is almost half over and I am getting very anxious about the proposed demolition of Potowomut School to make room for a fire station.
Potowomut School played a very important role in the lives of about 75 percent of the population of Potowomut, and for this reason, I feel we need to have a community-wide meeting to find out what these people think and what they might feel about having their school demolished and a fire station built in its place.
To this end, a place for a meeting will be found very soon and you will all be made aware of the time and place of this meeting. It is my hope that as many residents as possible will come to that meeting to express their feelings on the subject. Keep posted and bring with you any ideas you may have for the future use of the school. Put these thoughts in writing, if possible, so we can keep track of your thoughts and plans.
