Langevin’s Reps captured a 4-0 win in a boys’ Major League game this past week. Langevin’s Reps Aaron Rastella pitched a complete game no hitter. Rastella compiled 17 strike outs on his way to the victory. Rastella narrowly missed a perfect game with a two-out walk in the last inning of the game. With the game tied at zero, going into the fifth inning, Langevin’s Bryan Denton drove in Dom Brazeau for what proved to be the only runs Langevin’s would need.
Donelan’s Thomas Sullivan pitched five solid innings, allowing only three runs. Solid defensive play behind Sullivan kept Donelan’s in the game. The defensive player of the game was Andreas DeBont, a first-year baseball player who caught two key fly balls to right field.
Degiulio Insurance 9,
VFW Post 6
Danny Riccio was 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored, Jake White pitched four strong innings and broke open a tied game with a bases-loaded double in the fifth inning, and Ben Rindeikis hit two triples, drove in two runs and pitched an inning of solid relief to lead Degiulio Insurance to a 9-6 win over VFW Post.
VFW was led by Michael Borges, who pitched three strong innings, and Matt Banspach, who drove in two runs with a two-strike, two-out single in the top of the sixth, after fouling off several two-strike pitches.
