The Rhode Island Kennel Club, Inc. will hold its annual dog show on April 11 and 12 at Thayer Arena.
The club opened in 1886 and began its annual dog shows two years later. It is the oldest kennel club in Rhode Island, and the second oldest in the country. Trainers and their dogs come from all over the country and the globe to participate. The show includes breed conformation, junior showmanship, obedience, and rally, with judging beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. It is open to the public, and the fee for admission is $3 (only $1 for children under 10 years old).
