Rosemary (Scotti) DeRosa, age 85, of Coventry, and formerly of Warwick, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Kent Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ancil R. New and the late John F. DeRosa.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Anthony T. and Victoria H. (Nelson) Scotti, she lived in Warwick for most of her life, moving to Coventry 25 years ago. Mrs. DeRosa was employed as a lunch aide at Wyman School in Warwick for 31 years. She was a member of the Pawtuxet Volunteer Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by a son, Michael A. New and his wife Karen, of Coventry; four grandchildren, Michael New Jr., Stephanie New Howard, Brian New, and Sheila New; and seven great-grandchildren, Corey, Alesandrea, Brian, Jr., Michael, III, Aria, Hunter, and Gabriel; and a brother, Thomas A. Scotti of Florida. She was the sister of the late Ann L. Brearton and James Scotti.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, February 5, at promptly 6:30 p.m. in Legacy Church, 125 Circuit Drive, North Kingstown. Friends are requested to arrive at the church between 6:00 and 6:15 p.m. Her burial will be private.
