It is with much sorrow, but also love, that we share the passing of Robert “Bob” Ridgway, on October 1, 2023, at the age of 87 years.
Bob was a long-time resident of Warwick, Rhode Island, since 1974. Just last March he celebrated his 49th wedding anniversary with his wife Marianne, who dearly misses him, as do his sons, Jonathan and David, his sister Jane, and four grandchildren.
Born in Stamford, Connecticut, Bob was deeply interested in both nature, animals and people. He attended Sydney University, College of Veterinary Science, and later switched to the Medical School. He worked predominantly in diagnostic medical laboratory science and became a prominent business leader, founding his own successful diagnostic laboratory in Rhode Island, StatLab. Always a generous and active member of his community, he was a
long-time member of Rotary, the Warwick Chamber of Commerce as well as an Elder at the Stony Lane Church.
He adored both the ocean and boating, and often enjoyed the beauty and pleasures of Narragansett Bay as a captain of his own boat with his loving family, as mates. His silly humor and ever-present warm smiles and laughter are already, and shall continue to be, so dearly missed. We love you Bob/Pop.
Memorial services will be held on October 21, 2023, at 12:00 at his church, the Stony Lane Church, located at 921 Old Baptist Road, North Kingston, Rhode Island.
