Robert “Bob” Briggs Jr., 48, of Warwick, RI, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home after a two year battle with cancer.

Robert was a 1991 graduate of North Kingstown High School. He then joined the United States Marine Corps in 1992 retiring in 1998 with a rank of Sergeant. He was an Amphibious Assault Vehicle Repair Specialist in the Marines. He was very proud of being a Marine and serving his country. In 1999 he became employed by the Town of North Kingstown Highway Dept. and worked his way up to Equipment Maintenance Foreman. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shooting along with teaching and sharing his knowledge with his son, Conner. He also enjoyed camping trips with the family. He was a fan of Van Halen and Mozart music.

Robert leaves behind his wife, Renee (Valliere) Briggs and two children, Conner and Lillian. His mother Ruth Briggs of Narragansett, sister Amy Briggs of Coventry, in-laws Larry and Mary Valliere of North Kingstown and Armand Valliere of North Kingstown and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Robert joined his father Robert H. Briggs Sr. who passed away in 2015. Robert was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

At Bob's request, there will be no funeral services. Burial will be private in the family cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a cancer center or cancer research clinic in Bob’s name would be appreciated.
