The Pilgrim softball team took its first loss on Monday when the La Salle Rams got a no-hit win on the back of freshman pitcher Hailey Vigneau. Despite the loss, the Pats remain in first place in Division I and got another masterful performance from ace Alyssa Twomey in the circle, who allowed just one run on three hits while recording 13 strikeouts.
Johnston 5, Toll Gate 1
The Panthers held the Titans to just three hits in their win over Toll Gate on Tuesday. Katie Motta scored the Titans’ lone run while Delaney Wilson pitched six innings and picked up eight strikeouts.
BASEBALL
Hendricken 1, Portsmouth 0
The Hawks were led by junior Griffin Crain, who pitched a complete game shutout while striking out nine batters. Ryan Thompson knocked in Braeden Campbell in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off win.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Barrington 3, Toll Gate 0
The Titans were shut out by Barrington earlier this week. Jayden Glover had a solid outing, though, finishing with three assists and five digs for the Titans.
