Roundup: Toll Gate picks up 2nd win

The Toll Gate baseball team has won two of its past three games, most recently beating Cranston East 6-3 on Tuesday.

Austin Wheeler, Connor Salzillo and Brayden Ogden all drove in runs for Toll Gate in the win. Greg Laliberte pitched five innings, allowing one run and striking out five batters.


The Titans improved to 2-6 with the victory.

Pilgrim 6, South Kingstown 3

The Pats picked up a big Division I win when they topped the Rebels on Monday. Jack McConnell led the way at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Nolan Canestrari, Aidan Dumond and Dylan Roberts all drove in runs as well.

Canestrari got win on the mound, tossing four innings and allowing no earned runs while striking out four batters. AJ Ferreira recorded three strikeouts in relief.


Hendricken 6, Portsmouth 0

The Hawks remained in first place by shutting out Portsmouth on Monday.

Ryan Thompson led the way going 3-for-4 with four runs batted in, including a home run. Griffin Crain also knocked in a run.

Cooper Maher got the win on the mound, pitching five innings and striking out eight batters.


SOFTBALL

Pilgrim 4, Prout 1

Gretchen Dombeck got the win in the circle for Pilgrim, allowing just one run while striking out five as the Pats continue to surge in Division I.

Skylar Hawes, Audra McDonnell and Adrianna Pettinato all recorded RBI in the win.


BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Hendricken 3, Coventry 1

Andrew Ramos racked up 17 kills to lead the Hawks to the win over the Oakers. Ben Warr had a solid outing, finishing with 18 digs and three aces while Santiago Harrington racked up 23 digs.


BOYS LACROSSE

La Salle 20, Hendricken 6

The Rams rolled to a big win over Hendricken on Tuesday. KJ Lough scored for the Hawks in the loss.
