What better than a new flavor of ice cream on a summer day? Diane Dorsey provided the treats last week when Mayor Joseph Solomon and Lauren Slocum, president and CEO of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, visited her new location at 901 Warwick Avenue (Gold’s Plaza). Diane opened Diane’s Delectables – she makes wedding cakes, homemade ice cream, dessert buffets, custom cakes and runs princess parties – in 2016. Solomon applauded her entrepreneurial spirit, saying small business makes up so much of Warwick’s economic fabric. He was also enchanted by her homemade ice cream. Diane does not keep regular business hours – you may get lucky and find her busy in her shop – however, you can always reach her at dianesdelectables.com or call or text 401-359-2534. Joining the mayor as he snips the ribbon from left are Karen Jedson, director of the Department of Tourism and Development, Diane Dorsey and Lauren Slocum. (Warwick Beacon photo)
