Having been postponed by one nor’easter, the Rotary Club of Warwick wasn’t going to let dire warnings of another storm last Wednesday ruin the club’s Gourmet Gala at the Radisson. With forecasts of eight to 10 inches of snow and high winds, club member and organizer Janis Constantine said the more than 20 food vendors, event sponsors and the hundreds who had bought tickets had waited long enough. Besides, as she was proven correct, people were tired of all the bad weather and ready to get out. And, as we know now, the storm ended up being a non-event, which was so much the better. Funds raised will go to the club’s charitable endeavors.
