The Rocky Point fishing pier at same location of the former amusement park pier is slated for completion and to be opened later this month, according to the Department of Environmental Management. The pier that cost more than $2 million is designed for observation and fishing only although at some future time a dock and ramp may be added at the north end to accommodate boaters looking to visit the park. Also, off from the pier, red buoys warning mariners of nearby rocks have been added.
