Celebrating Shakespeare

STUMP SHAKESPEARE: English teacher Steven Bellanger put on his historically period thinking cap and was tasked with answering questions from students related to the life of William Shakespeare, portraying the man himself. He admitted to not knowing everything however, as the time travel it took to get him in the building caused some amnesia.

Students got to experience English at Toll Gate High School in a more lively way than normal, as the school celebrated the birthday of literary superstar William Shakespeare on Tuesday with various games and activities that, by participating, gave students the chance to earn cookies and cupcakes in addition to learning more about the famed playwright. Activities included Shakespearian Jeopardy, charades, a "Bard Card" birthday card arts and crafts station and a particularly interesting "Stump Shakespeare" station, which tasked kids with posing challenging questions to Shakespeare himself.
